How much does the bulk floor dry under linoleum

When performing repairs, before proceeding to the stage of laying linoleum, it is worth asking how much the bulk floor dries under linoleum. Indeed, all your further actions will depend on this parameter. There are a number of factors that determine the drying period of liquid surfaces.

What determines the drying time

The liquid base gradually begins to dry within an hour after you apply it to the surface. The final time required for complete drying will depend on some features, we list the main ones:

  • Type of mixture used.
  • The number of layers applied.
  • The use of various additives.
  • The thickness of each layer.
  • Type of finish protection.

REFERENCE. In most cases, within an hour after the work on applying the liquid base, it begins to gradually dry. To dry completely, an average of at least 5 hours will be required.

The polymerization period of various coatings

Each manufacturer indicates on the packaging with a mixture for bulk floors the approximate time required for its polymerization. Consider the main varieties of compositions for bulk floors and, accordingly, the necessary time for their drying:

  1. Polymer surfaces. It may take 2 to 6 days to dry them, and in each individual case this period will be individual, depending on the presence of additives in the composition, special additional components, thickness and number of layers.
  2. Cement-based coatings. When choosing this type of substrate, be prepared for the fact that it will take a sufficient amount of time to dry out. Most often, this type of mixture is used in private construction. For polymerization it will be necessary from 7 to 14 days.
  3. Plaster mixes. By choosing this mixture, you can enter the room in two days, but you can install furniture or some equipment no earlier than 10 days later.
  4. Quick-drying surface. Everything is pretty fast here. For complete drying of such a mixture, it will be necessary to take about 2-5 hours.
  5. Polyurethane surface. By choosing this composition, you can walk on the finished surface in 10-15 hours, but full polymerization occurs only after the third day.

Having familiarized yourself with the polymerization period of the basic compounds, you can rationally distribute the schedule of repair work.
